What is GroupX?

UREC GroupX classes are exercise classes taught in a group setting allowing participants to motivate each other while working with a trained instructor. GroupX is FREE to all UREC members at no additional cost. Check out our semester schedule here.

How to Register

  1. Go to UREC’s Fusion Portal(not the same as IMLeagues).
    • Every LSU student and Faculty & Staff UREC member should already have an UREC Fusion Portal account, and be able to login using their MyLSU credentials.
  2. Using your MyLSU credentials without “@lsu.edu”, “SIGN IN” where it states “Already Have an Account”. There is no need to create a new account.
    • Note: If you do not have a MyLSU account but are a UREC member, please contact the LSU UREC Operations Desk to set up your account.
    • Note: Because your login information is established through your MyLSU ID and MyLSU password, you are unable to reset your password through UREC’s Online Portal and/or for IMLeagues. If you click “reset password,” you will get an error message saying you are “Unable to Reset Password. Your account is managed in another system. Please use their tools to manage your password.”

  3. After signing into the UREC Fusion Portal, you will be directed to the IMLeagues Account Creation page.

  4. Next, you will be redirected to the IMLeagues website where you can reserve your spot for GroupX classes by selecting the “Fitness” option.

  1. Log in to your IMLeagues account.
  2. Click on the Fitness tab near the top of the page.

  3. When the class is open for registration, select the class you want to register for by clicking on the class in the Fitness Calendar or select the green “Sign Up” button.

  4. You will be directed to the specific class page where you will confirm your registration.

  5. Click “Accept” after reading the waiver agreement and click the blue “Sign Up” button again.

  6. You are now confirmed for class and will see your name on the class roster.
  • Download the IMLeages APP on your phone for easier registration.
  • Allows you to register for classes from your phone with ease.
  1. Log in to your IMLeagues account.
  2. Click on the Fitness tab near the top of the page.

  3. When the class is open for registration, select the class you want to cancel by clicking on the class in the Fitness Calendar.
  4. Please cancel your class registration prior to the allotted times to avoid a penalty:
    • Classes prior to 4:00 p.m. – cancel class reservation at least one hour prior to class start time.
    • Evening classes after 4:00 p.m. – cancel class reservation by 4:00 p.m.
  5. Click the red “Unregister for Session” button.

If you cannot make a class, we ask that you cancel your reservation allowing another participant into the class. If you do not cancel your reservation, the following action will be taken:

  1. First offense: Email warning
  2. Second offense: Email warning
  3. Third Offense: Participant will be blocked from Online GroupX class reservation for two weeks.

Eat Right, Live Good:
Interactive Grocery Store Tour
June 7

  • Navigating through a grocery store can be quite a daunting task when trying to identify healthful foods. Take out the guesswork and join us for an interactive virtual grocery store tour at Matherne’s Market. This session will be provided by exercise and nutrition professionals.

ACE Personal Training
Prep Course
June 14

  • If you have a desire to become a personal trainer, this course will help you master the information and theories of exercise science of personal training. This course is offered in persona at UREC or virtually through Zoom. The exam is not included in this course and each student is responsible for purchasing and scheduling their individual exam

  • This clinic will teach participants the fundamentals and proper technique. Practicing proper technique during a squat will help avoid injury and gain strength. If you have always wondered proper foot placement, benefits of squats, the muscles that are worked, and squat progression, this free clinic will help all levels gain confidence in their lift.

Build Your Own
Salt or Sugar Body Scrub
July 20

  • Give your body the relaxation it deserves. Learn about the health benefits associated with body scrubbing while creating your own custom body scrub. Choose sugar or salt as your base and fancy it up with essential oils, seeds, and other exfoliants that will leave your skin feeling smooth and rejuvenated. All supplies will be provided.

Fitness on the Geaux

Are you interested in using a Campus Recreation Group Exercise Instructor or Personal Trainer for an on-campus special event or program? We are ready to bring fitness to you. We understand that faculty, staff, and students are busy, so we are excited to offer Fitness on the Geaux! This program brings our instructors to your on-campus location and provides your group or department a customized class or educational session of your choice. Simply complete the form below, and we will follow up with you as quickly as possible.

Registration

You must be a valid member in order to purchase a personal training package.

  1. Fill out the Registration Form.
  2. You’ll then be contacted via email within 5 business days regarding registration status.
  3. If a member(s) of the group needs to get medical release from a registered physician before the start of training, they must do so within 10 days of receiving confirmation. If medical clearance is not received within 10 days, the entire group’s reservation will be forfeited.
  4. Payment Options: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, or Internal Transfer (LSU departments only).
