What is GroupX?

UREC GroupX classes are exercise classes taught in a group setting allowing participants to motivate each other while working with a trained instructor. GroupX is FREE to all UREC members at no additional cost. Check out our semester schedule below.

Personal Training

Take the guesswork out of fitness and begin training toward the realization of your goals. This can be done with a highly individualized training program designed for you by one of our nationally certified personal trainers. You will begin with a fitness assessment to find where you are today and then begin training toward your fitness goals. Your personal trainer will educate, motivate, and inspire you every step of the way.

  • Give your body the relaxation it deserves. Learn about the health benefits associated with body scrubbing while creating your own custom body scrub. Choose sugar or salt as your base and fancy it up with essential oils, seeds, and other exfoliants that will leave your skin feeling smooth and rejuvenated. All supplies will be provided.

  • Navigating through a grocery store can be quite a daunting task when trying to identify healthful foods. Take out the guesswork and join us for an interactive grocery store tour at Matherne’s Market. This session will be provided by exercise and nutrition professionals.

Starlight Yoga – On the Lawn

  • In an effort to bring more awareness to mental health, Starlight Yoga – On the Lawn will offer students an opportunity to practice soothing relaxation practices through yoga, while also enjoying the outdoor sunset. This is a great opportunity for those who feel stressed and or overwhelmed and want to find new and invigorating ways to slow down and clear the mind. Join us for this restful and rejuvenating event.

  • In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, we are proud to host the Salsa & Salsa Celebration event. This event includes salsa dance lessons and a build-your-own salsa bar, all while celebrating the rich history of the Latino/a culture.

The Beatles, Madonna, Spice Girls and Brittany Spears – we’ve got you covered! Monday – 70’s, Tuesday – 80’s, Wednesday – 90’s, Thursday – 00’s, and Friday – Halloween Inspired Tunes. Costumes are encouraged!

  • Test your strength and compete against your weight class in our Tiger Press Classic competition. Whether you are a new or experienced lifter, this competition is open all who seek to challenge their strength and competitive nature. No registration is required, all you need to do is show up at the powerlifting area.
