You will begin with a fitness assessment to find where you are today and then begin training toward your fitness goals.   2. You’ll then be contacted via email within 5 business days regarding registration status.
  3. Present your confirmation email to the UREC SRC Operations Desk for payment. Payment deadline will be on the email confirmation. Everyone in group must pay by deadline date.
  4. If a member(s) of the group needs to get medical release from a registered physician before the start of training, they must do so within 10 days of receiving confirmation. If medical clearance is not received within 10 days, the entire group’s reservation will be forfeited.
  5. Payment Options: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Cash, Check, TigerCash. Faculty/Staff and Graduate Students may pay in installments using Payroll Deduction Form.

Partner Personal Training offers a unique affordable opportunity that can be shared with a friend or family member. The price of the package is greatly reduced when compared to traditional one-on-one Personal Training. A personal trainer will prepare a workout tailored to fit shared goals while creating a motivational environment built on the support, camaraderie, and accountability between partners. This is the best of both worlds in one training program!

Commit To Be Fit

Students $80 | Members $120

This 8-week challenge, will encourage you to achieve a new commitment to fitness. Each participant will be challenged to:

  1. Complete a Pre and Post Fitness assessment.
  2. Complete 2 workouts a week with a certified personal trainer
  3. Log additional personal workouts to meet a total of 150 min of physical activity per week.

To win an individual must have the most significant positive change in body composition of all participants.

Small Group Training

Small Group Training offers a unique opportunity to explore a new dimension of fitness by merging the fun of group fitness with the accountability and individualized attention of personal training. Our courses offer individualized progression from class to class designed to teach participants with similar interests and goals. Certified trainers will guide you through proper form and technique while you enjoy your workout experience with friends!

Small Group Training sessions require a minimum of three participants and have a limit of no more than eight participants.

Fitness Assessment

A personal trainer will perform health-related assessments that are relevant to your fitness related goals and desires. As a client, you will be evaluated in numerous areas, including muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, cardiovascular fitness, and movement screens. Body measurements will also be conducted Each test will help you further your understanding of your overall health as it relates to fitness and overall program development for ongoing physiological assessments. Each fitness assessment will include the following:

  • Circumference measurements
  • Flexibility
  • Height and weight
  • Resting heart rate
  • Estimated body fat
  • Target heart rate
  • Three-minute step test
  • Squat assessment
  • Curl-up test
  • Push-up test
  • Resting blood pressure
  • Shoulder assessment

How to prepare for a fitness assessment:

It is important to take proper procedures before the fitness assessment to ensure accurate results. Below are a few tips to help you prepare for the fitness assessment:

  • Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing
  • Drink plenty of fluids over the 24-hour preceding the assessment to ensure normal hydration
  • Avoid exercise or strenuous physical activity the day of the assessment
  • Avoid food, tobacco, alcohol, and caffeine for at least 3 hours prior to the assessment

InBody 570 Fitness Assessment Machine.

The Inbody 570

The InBody 570 goes beyond traditional body composition analysis. It not only analyzes how much fat and muscle you have, but it also measures your Total Body Water and divides it into Intracellular Water and Extracellular Water, values important for understanding a user’s fluid distribution in medical, wellness, or fitness contexts.

Only impedance is used to determine your body composition results; no statistical data or empirical equations are used or required to predict your body composition.

Private Tennis Lessons

LSU UREC is now offering private tennis lessons! If you want to learn how to play the game or are ready to enhance your technique and skills, private tennis lessons are for you! Get instruction on what you want whether it’s improving your back hand, learning different hand positions, or how to serve. Our tennis instructors will guide you step-by-step in order to assist you in reaching your ultimate goal! Private tennis lessons are available on an individual basis, or on a dual basis (two participants).

Note: Participants are required to bring their own tennis racquet or check out a free racquet from the Equipment Desk prior to the start of the lesson.
