Challenge Course

Completed August 2013

  • New Challenge Course built across the street from University Recreation Complex.
  • Contains high and low elements that focus on team building activities.

UREC Field Complex

Completed August 2014

  • Expanded current field complex on River Road and Gourrier Avenue.
  • Moved and replaced four lighted softball fields and four lighted multi-purpose fields.
  • Expanded fields to include fields that encompass four softball fields in a wagon wheel configuration.
  • Complete complex is 27 acres.

Parking Space Addition & New Tennis Courts

Completed August 2014

  • Added 344 parking spaces and 9 new tennis courts at University Recreation.

UREC Expansion & Redesign

 Ribbon Cutting Ceremony September 2017

  • Updated current indoor swimming pool. 
  • Gutted and redesigned locker rooms.
  • Moved administration offices to the front of the facility to better serve students.
  • Expanded 13,000 sq. ft. of cardio/weight space to 40,431 sq. ft.
  • Added to exisiting facility:
        • Approximately 1/3 mile indoor jogging trail
        • Turfed Functional Training Area
        • Indoor Sloped Training Ramp
        • 35 ft. climbing wall and bouldering area
        • Outdoor pool area with LSU logo shaped leisure river and 8 lane lap pool
        • 3 additional indoor courts for basketball, badminton, futsal, volleyball, and other open recreation needs.  This gives students 8 total indoor courts.

        • Boxing Studio
        • Mind/Body Studio
