Letter From the Director – Welcome to Fall 2020

UREC welcomes students to the Fall 2020 semester. While we all navigate an ever changing environment, we are open to help you create success at LSU. When you come to visit UREC, you will notice adjustments to our operations that include occupancy limitations, space modifications, and a face masks requirement.  These adjustments will help minimize your risk of exposure, while still providing quality services and inclusive space for all. Everyone is encouraged to review our “COVID-10 Health and Safety Plan” prior to visiting.

UREC has a long tradition of providing programs that give students a safe place to engage with other students whether it is intramural sports, adventure clinics, GroupX fitness classes, or scuba lessons. These programs are available this semester with physical distance requirements in place.  Check out our website for this semester’s lineup of programs.

Another popular tradition is our annual “UREC Tradition Tee”.  This tradition started 4 years, and now has become a t-shirt everyone wants.  To get a “Tradition Tee”, just come visit UREC, show you Tiger Card, and receive a shirt.  You can get one anytime during the semester while supplies last.

We hope all Tigers do their part this semester to be safe and considerate of others around you.  It is a time like no other, but that doesn’t mean we can’t continue building tradition.  Grab your roommate, #maskup, come to UREC, and find your place with us.

On behalf of the UREC Team,

Laurie Braden
